North of the Thames XC Champs are ON

SATURDAY, 15 FEBRUARY 2014 AT FRYENT COUNTRY PARK, KINGSBURY

Race HQ: Kingsbury Free Church Hall, Slough Lane, Kingsbury, NW9 8QG

Please contact your team manager or coach if you want to be entered into this event. The men will be be notified via the teamer system.

UNDER 17 MEN, 3 miles, starting at 2.00pm

The first four to finish score as the team.  All entrants must be Under 17 as per UKA Rules.  Awards:  The Booth Cup to the winning team.  Three sets of medals for the first three teams and first three individuals.  If less than 10 teams enter, only two sets of medals.

UNDER 20 MEN, 3 miles, starting at 2.00pm

The first four to finish score as the team.  All entrants must be Under 20 as per UKA Rules.  Awards:  Three sets of medals for the first three teams and first three individuals.  If less than 10 teams enter, only two sets of medals.

Please note that the U17 and U20 men’s race will be combined with the women’s race.

UNDER 17, UNDER 20 AND SENIOR WOMEN, 3 miles, starting at 2.00pm

The first four to finish score as the team.  All entrants must be Under 17, Under 20 or Senior Women as per UKA Rules.

Awards:  The Les Golding Memorial Cup to the winning Senior Women’s team.  Three sets of medals for the first three teams, the first three individuals and the first three Masters.

SENIOR MEN, 5 miles, starting at 2.30pm

The first six to finish score as the team.  All entrants must be Seniors as per UKA Rules.

Awards:  North of the Thames: The Finch-Wayte trophy to the club providing the winner.  The TVH Centenary Trophy to the winning team.  The Essex Cup to the Essex club to finish 12 runners with the lowest total score.  The Middlesex Cup to the Middlesex club to finish 12 runners with the lowest total score.  Three sets of medals for the first three teams and first three individuals.  There are also North of the Thames 4 and 8-to-score trophies.

Hillingdon Athletic Club Annual General Meeting

The Hillingdon Athletic Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 4th March 2014 at 8.15pm. All members are invited to attend. If you wish to place an item on the agenda or make a resolution please notify the Interim Club Secretary, Lynda Copson, by 4th February at the latest. All resolutions require a proposer and seconder.

Elections for the following positions will be held at the AGM. If you wish to be nominated for any position please notify the Club Secretary by 4th February at the latest with details of your proposer and seconder.

Middlesex Masters XC – postponed to 1st March

Due to the recent rains, Mad Bess woods can no longer be used for Cross country events at present.

Thanks to Brian Fowler from the North West London Athletics league and the team of officials and volunteers from TVH, they have been able to switch the Masters CC to Wormwood Scrubs on Saturday 1st March, at 2.30.

Tea Bar

As from Tuesday 14th January John Bignell has kindly volunteered to officially steward the Tea Bar over a trial period. This being for 2 hours on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus Sunday Morning.

As some of you older members will remember Vic Lee used to do this for many years with sometimes help from other members on a Bar rota system.

Also from 14th January revised prices will also apply.

ATW Met XC League 11th January 2014 Juniors

A small team of juniors braved the thick mud and cold at Horsenden Hill on Saturday.

Unfortunately there were some absentees which was disappointing as we started off the season extremely well, however some very pleasing results.

U15U17 Boys – 19th Joseph Doyle, 38th Kirk O’Rourke, 43rd Abdi Hamud, 47th Josh Maylan, 56th Matthew Wright

U13 Boys – 15th James Forde, 18th Wesley Adamo, 26th Aaron Hall, 27th Connor Warwick, 42nd Josh Lee, 43rd Samuel Hanly, 45th Maxwell Cambridge

U15 Girls – 36th Chelsea Pledge, 42nd Kirsty O’Rourke

U3 Girls – 18th Lara Hill, 24th Hollie Acraman, 27th Annie Manners, 30th Chloe Leistien, 36th Isabel Stark and 38th Molly Oxenham

It was great to see two of our U13 girls who are very new to the club making their debut in this league.

After these results at the weekend, Hillingdon is currently in 10th league position place for the U13 boys and 6th for the U13 girls.  Our final race for this league is 8th February at Wormwood Scrubs so we hope to improve on our league positions.

Horsenden Hill Met League – A Bird’s Eye View, Perivale, 11th January 2014

Horsenden Hill is special to me as it was my first EVER cross country race when I guested as a vet for the club in February 2012 – when it snowed and the ground was lovely and firm, writes Donna Nash.
This year, I felt privileged to be one of the nine Hillingdon women running at Perivale and helped gain the senior team fifth place in Division Two , which keeps our sixth place in the season. [Read more →]

Met League Race Four, Horsenden Hill, 11 January 2014

Hillingdon AC’s Senior Men enjoyed their best result of the season so far in the Met League with the A team finishing a season’s best fifth in Division One and the B team finishing second in Division Three at a wet and muddy Horsenden Hill. This result sees the A team move up to seventh in Division One and increases their chances of avoiding relegation while the B team have moved up to third in Division Three and kept alive the chance of promotion to Division Two.
