Hillingdon Half Marathon 23rd March 2014

Hillingdon AC was in dominant form at the Hillingdon Half marathon, as the event staged a welcome and successful return after an absence of 10 years from the racing calendar reports Scott Farley.

The race was won by Rob Thompson in an impressive time of 70:42 with James Laing in second place just over a minute further back. Their performances, combined with Mike Dooley in 8th position and Scott Farley in 14th, ensured the club won the men’s team prize. Rob and James also picked up medals for the Middlesex half marathon championships.

Hillingdon AC’s first female was Eva Mack in 1:30:25 and overall the women’s team finished second behind Thames Valley Harriers. The club was well represented throughout the event with many athletes achieving personal best times on a fast and flat course that started and finished on the Brunel University campus.

Full results are available on the Active Training World website here.

Results showing all the PB’s can be found here.

Hillingdon Half Marathon

If you don’t all ready know, the Hillingdon Half Marathon is returning on the 23rd March. There are still places available for £20 here http://hillingdonhalf.co.uk with around 20 from HAC entered at this stage . If you don’t want to run a half marathon but would like to be involved maybe you would consider being one of the Hillingdon Half Racemakers? If you are interested or want to find out more please visit the race website http://hillingdonhalf.co.uk/racemaker.html
If you are able to help, the sooner you complete the Racemakers form the easier it will be  to start allocating Racemakers to their roles.

For clarity, this is not a Hillingdon AC event but the organisers hope that both the large donation to sport in the local area that will be awarded from the race profits plus the increased awareness of athletics in Hillingdon will benefit HAC and it’s members.
