Men’s Road And Cross Country Season 2014/2015 Communication

Based on the feedback I’ve had from a number of members, Teamer, the application that I previously used to help coordinate race entries and communicate with athletes had stopped messaging approximately half of the team.

As a result, I’ve had to try and find another application that I can use to communicate with the road and cross country team and the application I’ve settled on is called TeamSnap. If you are an Under 20, Senior or Veteran man who has expressed an interest in competing in road and cross country races when you submitted your 2014/2015 membership form, you should have received an email message from me inviting you to register to join TeamSnap. If you haven’t received this email, please check your “Junk” folder incase it has ended up there. You will need to be registered with TeamSnap in order to ensure that you receive further communication regarding road and cross country fixtures for the 2014/2015 season.

If you have paid your membership subscription for 2014/2015, are a senior, veteran or under 20 man who would like to compete in road and cross country races and haven’t received an invitation from TeamSnap, please email me at pleppard@hillingdonac.co.uk so that I can add you to the system.

Crop tops

hactop

If any member, well female members would like to purchase a HAC crop top they are now available to purchase here. I don’t have any stock but will use any purchases to help guide me to get stock in. Basically, if you want one order one then wait a few weeks for it to arrive. If you could order by Wednesday this week that would be great so it gives a fair chance they will arrive before the autumn races. Shop page here http://www.hillingdonac.co.uk/shop/clubkit.html

Mens Senior, Veteran and Under 20 Road & Cross Country Teamer Notifications

Hillingdon AC has been using Teamer to help coordinate race entries and communicate with athletes for approximately 4 years. However, I’ve got some concerns whether the messages and event notifications that I’ve been sending out recently have been reaching people – primarily because I’ve stopped recieving messages and notifications from Teamer myself!

In the past, Teamer notifications may have been sent to the “Junk” folder of people’s email but the concern I have is that I’m no longer seeing any communication from Teamer at all.

If you are a Senior, Veteran or Under 20 man who is interested in competing in road and cross country races and who has a membership subscription for 2014/2015, you should have recently received an email from me (Paul Leppard) regarding the South of England Six Stage Road Relays and the Middlesex 10K Road Race Championship.

To help me gauge whether Teamer is still an appropriate platform to use to communicate with athletes, if you are a Senior, Veteran or Under 20 man who is interested in competing in road and cross country races, please complete the short survey (3 questions) I’ve set up at SurveyMonkey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HNX6F2C

Many Thanks

Paul Leppard

Ken Bobbitt, Double British Champion

Ken Bobbitt
Masters AF Championships, Alexander Stadium, Birmingham 9-10 August 2014
Hillingdon AC’s two representatives at these championships came away with three medals. In the 3000m Walk on the Saturday, Ken Bobbitt won the M70 age group in 17:49.29. Then, on a blustery Sunday afternoon, he won the 5000m M70 Walk in 30:16.14, after a stride for stride race against the 2nd placed M45 walker, beating him by half a second. In the same two races, ex-HAC walker Trevor Jones won the M55 age group. In the 5000m M75 run, Doug Milsom came third in 24:21.94, having tracked the 2nd place runner, Ed Simpson, for the first 8 laps, until a sore Achilles tendon finally slowed him down.
