Fair Ladies at Fairlands, Stevenage, Met League Fixture 2

I start this report with news of those further down the field who deserve recognition for their achievement at this fixture reports Donna Nash.
FIRST place for our ‘B’ Team of Vets – Lesley (137th overall in 29.59), Pauline (147th overall in 31.10), Lucy ((161st in 32.36) and Heather ((164th in 32.57) and FIRST place for our ‘C’ team of Lyndsey and Angela who remain 2nd overall in Vets D3.
Well done ladies – keep it up and you will be promoted…
The speedy A team, pictured with Gerry Archer, were:
Stacey (bronze position in 3rd – creeping up the field in 21.50), Gemma (16th in 23.20) Ciara (33rd in 24.39), Hannah (37th in 25.01) Kate (62nd in 26.22) and Zoe (98th in 28.10 who also scored for the A team of Vets).
The A team achieved 4th place and remain 4th after 2 fixtures.
The B team comprised Lynn (99th in 28.13), Karen (119th in 29.08), Mel (123rd in 29.23), Lesley and Pauline (who scored for both seniors and vets B teams).
The Senior C Team comprised Lucy, Katherine, Heather and Christina. Katherine and Christina put in impressive effort improving significantly over the course and feeling deservedly proud. A PB also for Heather, running the course for the first time.
Poor Lotte had to retire due to a niggling hamstring issue but cheered enthusiastically along with Preena who offered great support and ran alongside Christina in the closing stages.
Lynn Hyde managed a sprint finish overtaking on the last stretch (what a great feeling!).
Several ladies used this as a warm up for the Grand Union half, huge respect for Mel, Zoe, Lucy and Angela! Thanks for making the effort for your club as well as pursuing your own goals – committed or crazy?!
Thanks to our super squat of 18 and roll on Fixture 3 – Wormwood on 3rd December. Let’s have everybody out there!

Clubhouse Vacancies

John Doyle and John Bignell are standing down from their current roles as the club house management team at next year’s AGM, having filled this position for the best part of the past three years. This creates three vital vacancies on the clubhouse sub committee, namely Chairperson, Club Headquarters Secretary and Social Secretary. Sharon Talbot currently fills the remaining role as Clubhouse Treasurer. These roles are ably supported by Harry Wild and Roy Cnudde, along with other members of the Management Committee.
The Sub-Committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of the clubhouse and all Hillingdon AC hosted events. Please give full consideration to standing for one of these roles as it is vital that they are filled by motivated and competent members to ensure that this important aspect of club life continues.
If you would like more information about what these roles involve and the level of time you would need to commit to the role please contact me.
Kind Regards
Dave Smith
HAC Chairman

London Marathon Ballot Result.

There were 10 applications for 2 places offered by VLM to HAC.
In order of application were 1. Taj Randhawa 2. Kate Shockley 3. Jeremy Collis 4. Stuart Arundel 5. John Hughes 6. Lucy Duncan 7. Zoe Dobbs 8. Dennis Carey 9. Melanie Helen Spencer 10. Gary Taylor.
I used a random number generator app to draw the numbers. Number 9 then number 4 where drawn so congratulations to Melanie Helen Spencer and Stuart Arundel.
If one or both drop out before the cut off date in January I will do another draw with the unsuccessful names of those still wanting to take part in the VLM.
