Promotion for Under 13/15 Athletes in the UK Youth Development League

A great track season for our YDL Under 13/15 competitors has resulted in Hillingdon Athletic Club being top of our division and consequently being promoted which is fabulous news, reports Courtney Clarke.

Throughout the three matches (two visits to Battersea and a match at Hillingdon) our team have stepped up producing some great track and field results with PB’s galore.

With some careful selection and ensuring we filled as many events as we could with both an A and B string athlete, we have won every match quite convincingly. In our last match we amassed over 600 points, the most we have ever achieved.

A massive well done to all of the athletes concerned.

This doesn’t just happen without a huge amount of work by our young athletes who have spent time training and working hard showing commitment to their events. Thanks must go to our dedicated and wonderful coaches and officials who we know give up so much of their time. Thanks must also go to the parents who come along and support all of the athletes, as well as the coaches when they need help officiating in the field or on the track.

Next season will be tougher but we must all work and train hard to achieve and let’s see what we do together!

July 3K Training Race

Well done to everyone that took part in the July 3K training race in warm conditions. The turnout was better than expected with the summer holidays now in full swing and there were a few new faces taking part too. Thanks once again to all the officials and course marshals without whom there would be no race. Results can be found here.

Clubhouse lockers

From the Suggestions Box we were asked to look into getting lockers for the clubhouse to store valuables. We would like to get a feel for how many people would want and use the lockers before making any decisions. Please put your name down at the clubhouse if you would want us to invest in some lockers which will be approximately £350 for a bank of 20. Thanks.
