DEVIL TAKES THE HINDMOST 2018
This year’s competition will take place on Tuesday 4th September at 7pm on the
normal course at Rochester Road in Northwood Hills, opposite Haydon School.
Please register at the clubhouse by 6.30pm or be at Rochester Road by 6.50pm.
You compete entirely at your own risk.
All Club members are welcome to run, with a £3 fee for any non-Club members.
This year there will be a maximum of four competitions, with the exact make-up formulated after the entries close at 6.50pm:
Men – Maximum of 10 rounds
Women (subject to change) – Maximum of 8 rounds
Over 40 Men (subject to change) – Maximum of 8 rounds
Plate (for those knocked out in early stages of the other three competitions) – Maximum of five rounds
How does it work?
All the runners in each competition start together and run up the hill (just under 300m in length). The last one to the top is eliminated (sometimes more depending on number of entries).
The remainder jog back down again and then repeat the run up the hill. Once again, the last one to the top is eliminated (sometimes more depending on number of entries).
This is repeated until only one runner is left, who is the winner of the competition.
So that everyone gets more than one run, halfway through the event everyone who has been eliminated to that point in the three main competitions can enter the Plate competition.
Further details if required from Gavin Collett

Veteran Mens Track And Field Season 2018.
Hillingdon Ac Veteran Men’s team finally won the Mid London Division after many years of trying on Wednesday night at Perivale reports Jason Steel
Fixture 1 at Battersea on the 14th May we came a very close 2nd place to Herne Hill which gave me a good sign that if we put out a strong team at our next match we would have a chance of victory.
Match 2 was at Perivale on the 4th June as the throwing cage at Hillingdon was out of action. We really needed to win this match as to go 2 matches down to Herne Hill would have made it an uphill task.
We performed very well on the night and won comfortably to even the overall standings.
Match 3 back at Battersea on 18th June and we had a very strong team out and dominated the events and scoring a comprehensive victory by 18 points with a huge 191 point total.
This just left the last fixture, Match 4 at Perivale which was Re-scheduled for Wednesday 1st August.
The scenario was if we came 1st we win overall,Finish 2nd and as long as it was by less than 24 points we would win also.
Despite missing a couple of athletes due to holidays I need not have worried as we turned out in force and won the match which gave us the long awaited victory overall.
Mid London Division Champions and on to the League Final at the Julie rose Stadium, Ashford, Kent on the 30th September where we will do ourselves and the club proud.
Well done and thank you to all who have helped the team this year so far, 1 more match to go, see you there!

Ickenham 5
I received this post this year’s race from the organisers.
I would like to congratulate Hillingdon AC for Gemma Barry and Kathy Carruthers, who finished 2nd and 3rd for the ladies.
We loved your club’s support with such short notice of this year’s race. I have spoken to Run Britain who were very impressed with our organisation despite the pressure to get this off the ground. We can therefore confirm that the race will take place next year on Sunday 7th July 2019. We will be emailing all those who attended this year to offer them an entry for a fee of £10.00 to say thank you for their loyalty in helping to keep this event alive. All Hillingdon AC members will be eligible for a fixed entry fee of £10.00 until October 2018.
I shall be working on the online registration but those who entered this year with us will simply log back into our website and the race will appear on their profile.
