Matt Fayers continued to show his peers the way to get results with yet another fine performance on Saturday 23rd July in Manchester. Regular visitors to this site will know that Matt has been on exceptional form this year, and so it will come as no surprise that he has lowered his own U20 800m club record again from 1:52.27 to 1:51.65.
In a very strong area of UK juniors athletics he is currently ranked 11th U20 man. May the progresss continue.

Carys Tetlaw hopped, skipped and jumped past the U17W club Triple Jump record in June. She passed the previous line in the sand by 2 centimetres with 10.34 metres. With the good work of our club coaches plus extra coaching now by GB Olympian Larry Achike, this record may not last very long.
U17W Rebecca Miles also set a club record in June. In the 300m hurdles she cleared the 2009 record of 50.0 with a time of 49.3 at our home track to show her all round ability.
For a third time this season Matt Fayers has broken the club U20M 800m record. At Watford in a BMC race on Wednesday 13th July he took almost a 1 second chunk out of his previous record of 1:53.08 with a fantastic 1:52.27 at 16 years old.
Please make sure we are informed of club records across the ages genders and disciplines so that current athletes and coaches achievements don’t get missed.

Well done to the men’s team that retained the Farringdon Trophy to show that the men are still on track. The women and girls team depleated to only 4 competitors took 3rd in the Atlanta Trophy. In the Jewkes Trophy it was a similar case of a low turn out as the boys were 5th team.

This Saturday, 9th July, saw the first use of the new washrooms at the Club House.
The club were blown clean away with the new facilities when Harry Wild and Norma Cressy opened them to club members for the first time.
Many Thanks to John Bignall and Allan Butler for all of their hard work on this project and to the good people at the London Marathon Trust.

Brief down pour’s in the weather reflected how points came for Hillingdon today at the 3rd Southern Athletics Meeting in Sandy; in fits and spurts.
The ladies team was devastated by injury but pulled together missing only a handful of events on the team sheet. The men were bolstered by some debuts for the league and only 19 points separated Hillingdon and eventual winners, Swindon.
The men’s 4 X 1 team had a strong win with the ladies coming home in 2nd. Full results here and pictures soon, watch this space.
