Hillingdon member makes top 50 UK 5km rankings

We should all be very proud of Rob Thompson who now stands 40th in the Power of Ten UK rankings for the 5km. Rob ran a personal best of 14 minutes 37:74 recently at the BMC Watford meeting. Congratulations should also go to his coach Gerry Archer. Whilst not many of us will ever achieve a sub 15 minutes 5km, we should all aspire to be the best we can be and represent the club. Rob is an inspiration to us all, and if you see him around the club please congratulate him and show your appreciation for keeping the name of Hillingdon AC synonymous with excellent athletic performance.

Brian Feldman 85 Miles on the Thames Towpath

The dreaming spires of Oxford were a mirage in the distance as we set off to run 100 miles along the Thames Towpath from Richmond, and for me they remained a mirage because I was unable to complete the race.  The course embraces much of English History with significant landmarks along the way, which added to the interest as we plodded our increasingly weary way up the river writes Brian Feldman.
