Car park maintenance

As those who use the clubhouse will have noticed there is currently a significant amount of work being carried out in the car park. What you may not be aware of is that all the work has been done by a small bunch of volunteers, namely John Myall, Brian Leach and Dave Martin. There is still a significant amount to do over the next couple of weeks, prior to the car park being resurfaced before the winter weather sets in. The remaining work involves cutting back foliage at the front of the clubhouse, and helping to move the shed onto the patio on a  temporary basis. It is in everyone’s interests that we prepare the car park as well as we can, to ensure that the contractor can provide us with as good a surface as possible. Please do not wait to be asked, just approach John, Brian, Dave or John Doyle and offer to help.

Women Relay The Foundations

WomensRR2014On Saturday 20th September 2014 Hillingdon AC women’s teams competed at the Southern 4 Stage Road Relay championships for the first time since 2009. The squad was a mix of old and new faces with only Michaela Mayor and Jemma Weekes having any experience of this fixture and the pressure and nerves this format of racing places on the team members. Excitement was also high for the upcoming challenge of the course and taking on some of the best female athletes in the land. Steph Twell, Jessica Judd and Beth Potter to name a few have all recently graced the international scene and it is great for normal club athletes to be in the same competition as them. [Read more →]
