Palace Princesses

ladies_AllyPallyStacey was star of the show (and of the season) at the final Start Fitness Met League XC fixture at Ally Pally reports Donna Nash. First home for Hillingdon and 2nd overall (both for the race and the series), time was 21:17. Stacey did herself and the club proud.
Eva Mack had a fantastic race finishing 24th (23:53) and looking composed throughout. Mud, never Eva’s favoured conditions, failed to hold her back and she even said ‘I loved it!’ (I will be reminding Eva of this next season)
Hannah Wells, our dedicated xc supergirl couldn’t catch Eva this time but only 2 places and 5 seconds behind (26th in 23:58) and 3rd home for HAC.
Steph Wigram, newly wed and full of beans, had plenty to smile about it seems as she skipped through the mud achieving 43rd place (25:38).
Ciara Williams finished her season strongly and completed the scoring 5, finishing 45th (25:42).
Our ‘B’ team put on an excellent show; Alex Longton, our ‘sweetest’ lady placed 51st (26:09) followed by Kate Shockley, ‘teaching’ us a thing or two about getting stuck in placed 66th (27:02); two making their debut for HAC were Alison (Ali Pally) Cartlidge who commented ‘the course is disgusting’ finished 74th ( 27:49) closely followed by ‘Army Emma’ Grindrod making her one and only appearance for us before moving to Newquay finished 75th(27:54).
The Vets Team consisted of the ever lean and mean Zoe Dobbs (76th in 27:55), consistent Karen O’Rourke (101stin 29:33), ‘Last Minute Lesley.Conway’, fresh from the ski slopes (literally having arrived home that morning and having been up since 3.00am!) tackled the mud with as much enthusiasm as the snow finished 106th (29:56) and ‘Lady Pauline’ Fischer competed the scorers finishing 108th in 30:31.
Heather Davidson made her XC debut in cheerful style and chuffed with a PB in 121st place (32:50). Katherine Wells, cheered home by sister Hannah finished 134th (37.22) and last but never least, Amazing Angela Duncan in 136th place (38:05).
Special thanks to Melanie Spencer for loaning shoes and shirt and I am sure I could hear her cheering us from the Italian Alps!!
And thanks, of course to the coaches, Roger Williams, Gavin Collett and Gerry Archer.
Didn’t manage to get a full team photo as some people had to go and others were still being cheered and running!

Results here.
