Hillingdon 20
Congratulations to all who completed the inaugural Hillingdon 20 race in challenging conditions.
Well done to Catriona Paterson who, fresh from representing Middlesex in the Inter-Counties XC the day before, was the first Hillingdon AC member over the finish line and second lady overall, in a time of 2.20.25. Catriona says: “Toeing the start line, my legs definitely felt less springy and this was not helped by the 50mph gusts of wind that turned out to be a permanent feature of this race. I took the first lap easy and I would describe the 5mile loop as the hillier side of undulating. It wasn’t an easy course but it was made quite challenging by the relentless wind.”
As first Hillingdon AC finisher, Catriona was presented with the R W Gale Cup, the first lady to be presented with the trophy in the cups 85 history.
Results for all Hillingdon AC members who competed are as follows:
PATERSON Miss C A | 02:20:25 |
Paul Hull | 02:35:51 |
Steve Edwards | 02:37:58 |
Ross Longton | 02:40:40 |
Jose Ramon Polo Lopez | 02:46:43 |
Sam Hurley | 02:51:05 |
Zoe Dobbs | 02:52:08 |
Boo Smith | 02:56:09 |
Debbie Brown | 03:07:40 |
Dennis Carey | 03:07:37 |
Bryony Lycett-Brown | 03:17:53 |
Full results can be found here http://results.eventchiptiming.com/results.aspx…
A huge thank you to all those who organised, marshaled and helped in the clubhouse, you all contributed to the success of the race and it could not have happened without you. There has been lots of positive comments on social media which will be communicated.

ATHLETICS FORCE – EASTER EGGTRAVAGANZA!
To all parents/guardians and athletes
The countdown is on! It’s only 6 weeks until the Easter Eggtravaganza Volunteer Day on SATURDAY 20th APRIL from 10:30 till 4:30.
It is shaping up to be a great day – many thanks to those who have already volunteered to participate in preparing the track for the forthcoming season. To help us plan numbers for catering, Easter Eggs and t-shirts, it would be really useful to know the number of people attending. Therefore, if you would like to join us but have not yet informed either Courtney, Andy or Dave, please could you do so over the next couple of weeks.
Courtney Clarke: courtneyclarke3256@gmail.com
Andy Wilcock: andy.wilcock@sky.com
Dave Smith: davidalan.smith2@gmail.com
All volunteers will be given a free t-shirt. There will also be free catering and refreshments served throughout the day as well as a special Easter treat for all the children.
All ages young and old and of all abilities are welcome and there will be a range of volunteer opportunities available for everyone.
So, whilst you do not require any particular skills to participate, if you do happen to have any experience in construction or gardening, please let us know.
This is your chance to give back to the club which does so much for you and your children and to showcase HAC to the rest of English Athletics, so your participation would be much appreciated.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask Courtney or Andy at the track and Dave at the Clubhouse.
