Orienteering event- Sat 6th August

Back by popular demand – Nigel Ealand’s head scratching orienteering event!
The course has been plotted and maps drawn. All you need to do is find the points on the map, take a selfie to prove you found them and get back within 90 minutes from setting off on your adventure. Points will be earned depending on distance and difficulty to find the markers BUT there will be points deducted for every minute you’re over the 90 minute time limit! You can run/walk solo, in pairs or groups it’s up to you. First teams will leave at 4pm then every 5 minutes thereafter to spread the contestants out.
There will be casks of Rebellion Beers, a selection of chilled wines and of course a BBQ to enjoy afterwards and maybe a pub quiz too.
Friends and family are welcome, please let us know by Tuesday 2nd August if you would like to come along.

Marshalls needed for Hillingdon 20

There is less than 6 weeks to go to the Hillingdon 20 on Sunday September 4th. This race is the main driver of income for the club after membership fees. We currently have 30 Marshall’s and we need between 60-70. Please consider making yourself available so that we can provide a safe and enjoyable experience for race participants. If you, your family or friends are able to help please respond to Maria Hernandez Humm who will be emailing you over the next few days. Alternatively Lindsay Hannigan will be collecting names at the clubhouse.

SAL Match 3 Uxbridge report

The 3rd SAL match was back at Uxbridge on the 16th July.
There were some great performances on the day including, Liam Holbrook A 400m 51.3s and 800m 2.01.8,
Kirk O Rourk with an 800m PB 2.04.3, Jasmine Wood winning the A 800m 2.26.2 plus she ran the 1500m and 3k too!
New member to the club Tom Norman winning the A string Discus in a superb 47.32m
The next match is at Oxford on Saturday 13th August.
We are 14th in the League as it stands with 16 teams in total, so we are in the relegation zone.
South London Harriers are just above us and they are in our next match so if we can get a really good turn out its possible to go above them.
We are desperately short in the ladies’ team so please if you can compete it would be great, every point counts as it’s a team effort..
If you need any information, please ask and hopefully see you there.

July 5km training race

This months race was very much a family affair with 15 year old Freddie Ford winning the race in a time of 20 mins 20 seconds and his Mum Caroline Ford finishing first lady in 23:02.  Hollie Ford was first female junior in 23:28. There were 23 finishers and everyone enjoyed the BBQ and quiz at the clubhouse afterwards. Thanks to the race timekeepers and clubhouse team for another great event. Vets League- Perivale results

We did it boys!
The men’s team smashed it at Perivale  winning the match and the division so to the Finals we go.
We are just waiting on the ladies’ results but hopefully we both won so fantastic results.
Personally, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you that have competed and helped the team this season.
I am very proud to be your team manager and to win has been a big focus of mine so to do it I’m a very happy man.
You’re a great bunch of team mates and the effort you have put in has been amazing so thank you all so much.
Keep training for those Finals in September and speak soon.
