Fair ladies come joint FIRST at Fairlands. Met League Stevenage
A great turn out of 10 Hillingdon ladies (and apologies from 8) representing our club on a crisp afternoon reports Donna Nash.
A warm welcome to Helen O’Neile on her first outing for the club and Steph Wigram on her first cross country for Hillingdon. Both put in fantastic performances and proved to be a real asset to the team.
We achieved an amazing result coming joint first with Barnet & District and overall our league position is a strong 3rd.
Well done and thank you to all who took part, giving up their time and putting in a huge effort for our club. Also thanks to our coaches, Roger Williams and Gavin Collett who kick us into shape for these events.
We had 4 ladies finishing in the top 50 and 2 more just outside 100 – places and times as follows.
Eva Mack 25 23.45
Helen O’Neile 27 23.57
Steph Wigram 40 24.27
Hannah Wells 44 24.30
Jemma Weekes 102 27.45
Andrea Taylor 113 28.15
And the Vets:
Lesley Conway 124 28.54
Donna Nash 128 29.06
Pauline Fischer 147 29.55
Sharon Talbot 183 37.40
There was a field of 188 ladies and strong competition with Cambridge. Hannah Wells put in an excellent performance improving her place by 15 from Claybury and Andrea Taylor did incredibly well despite carrying an injury .
And last but not least, a little mention of our training companion – Liam Holbrook, representing Hillingdon in the U17s completed the 4km course in 14.01 just missing a top 10 spot, placing 11.
