Our Fair Ladies Grace Fairlands Valley Park and Win!!!!

HAC_Stevenage_2

Amazing turn out of 19 ladies with 5 making their debut for Hillingdon and a further 6 sending apologies due to illness, injury or work commitments reports Donna Nash. Weather was not great to say the least – WET and ground very soft. Forecast said it was supposed to stop raining at 2pm but it didn’t stop until the men’s race.
Star performer on the day was Stacey Ward who came home in 6th place looking very comfortable. Clearly a lady to watch and we are very grateful she is representing us.
Jen Harvey also put in a very impressive performance, looking strong throughout the race and hardly got her vest muddy! Jen arrived home in 29th position.
Eva Mack, despite being advised not to race due to a heavy schedule, was determined to make her contribution which was indeed significant. Eva raced round in graceful style maintaining her position in the mid 30’s. With 500 metres to go, Eva not only pulled back a position but also held off 4 other ladies who were closing her down! Well done (I’m afraid I cannot quote Eva directly).
Hannah Wells dug in and put in a very steady performance. Her short stride suits the mud and you just know she is going to do well. Hannah achieved 49th position which was excellent given the quality and the bigger field of runners.
Our last scorer for the seniors was Steph Wigram arriving home in 55th place. Steph has been injured for most of the year but she is clearly on form and gave us plenty to smile about.
Ciara Williams was first scorer for the B team (when have we managed a B team?!) and felt a bit disappointed with 64th. Ciara’s competitive spirit and natural speed is an asset to us and she will never disappoint Hillingdon AC! Rest of the B’s were Anna Harwood, making her debut and arriving home 93rd place, La Jolie Morgane Lesenne (118) and Lynn Hyde (121) who both also scored for the Vets.
Our Vets team this time were Morgane, Lynn Hyde, Zoe Dobbs and last scoring Vet over the line was Pauline Fischer who has definitely started this season as she finished the last – consistently pushing herself and battling through the field.
We also had a ‘C’ team (amazing again) and scorers were Karen O’Rourke (debut), Lesley Conway, Meryl Dickinson (debut) and Melanie Spencer.
Last but by no means least were Katherine Wells (debut) Lucy Duncan, Lyndsey Browne and the awesome Angela Duncan.
Thank you to everyone that attended and helped put us very much on the map in the Met League. Full results can be found here.
