ATW Met League 12th January 2013
At a cold and boggy Horsenden Hill a sizeable HAC contingent competed in the ATW Met League.
In the U13 boys races there was a positive turnout with 11 finishers from 47 with Zarir Zahir U11 our top finisher in 3rd place. The team finished 6th of 14 teams.

In the U13 boys races there was a positive turnout with 11 finishers from 47 with Zarir Zahir U11 our top finisher in 3rd place. The team finished 6th of 14 teams.
In the corresponding U13 girls race Anna Gizzi U13 was first of our 7 finishers in 11th place. The team finished 7th of 13 teams.
Disappointingly the U17 women’s race was again poorly contested with only 35 finishers overall with 3 from HAC. Chelsea Pledge was our highest placed in 28th. The team finished 12th from 14 teams.
There was a slightly better turnout in the U17 means race with 50 finishers. HAC had a strong presence in the contest with Sam Lloyd the first of 14 to cross the finish in 10th. The team finished an A and B team in 5th and 8th.
In the women’s race we had 9 finishers from 139 which isn’t great but has become the norm it seems. U20 Hannah Wells was our first home in 41st and picked up a prize as second overall U20. An inspiration to those competing and should be to those not was the evergreen V70 Angela Duncan who was the oldest finisher at the fixture. The team came 6th from 9 teams in division 2 and 3rd in the veteran div 2.
Rob Thompson led home the 26 HAC men in the 350 strong race in 12th place. As a local fixture 26 should really have been 36 at the very least. I hope all those men that run in the woods on a Sunday morning will show their face on a Saturday afternoon at the final fixture in RUISLIP WOODS on 9th February. The team came 5th from 10 in Division 1 and 6th from 9 in the veteran div1.
