British Masters Indoor Championships Lee Valley 9/10th March
Myself, Neil Middleton and Richard Jenkin once again ventured over to Lee Valley for the last of the indoor races this year and to compete against some of the countries top veteran athletes reports Jason Steel.
Neil ran the M45 60m on the saturday and came 4th in his heat and 9th fastest overall in 8.12s, He then ran the 200m on sunday and came 4th in his heat and 9th fastest overall in 27.25s with a tight hamstring hampering his performance.
Richard ran the M50 1500m on Saturday and finished 10th in 451.58s and then ran the 3000m on Sunday and came 7th in 10.35.65s.
I decided not to run in the V40 400m on the Saturday due to illness all week and at the last minute on Sunday chose to race in the 800m and came 6th in 2.14.05s.
All 3 of us are capable of faster times and wanted to do, and could do a bit better but in the circumstances I think we have positives to take away with us which I am sure will stand us in a good position for the rest of the track season.
