6 January 2007, Middlesex County AA Championships, Horsenden Hill

Congratulations to James Laing on a superb performance to become the Middlesex Champion in the U15 Boys race reports Kevin Waterman. There was also a great team performance by the U15 Boys who finished as silver medallists with the other scorers being Carl Yates in 8th place and Mark Speight in 12th. The U13 Boys team also secured the silver medal position thanks to Joe Carton who finished 4th, Tom Saunders 9th, and Matthew Frayer who finished in 10th place. On a very good day for Hillingdon AC the U20 Men also secured silver medals with the scorers being Daniel Thompson in 5th place, Jonathon Castro 8th and Matthew Revier in 14th position. There were also excellent performances by Scott Tompsett and Richard Mann who secured 4th places in the Senior Men’s race and the U17 Men’s races respectively. All of these performances were achieved in appalling conditions that were described by the winner of the Senior Men’s race, Stephen Sharp, as the worst conditions he has experienced in the UK. And one other performance worthy of note just in case anybody hasn’t heard – in this race Stevan managed to beat Steve Hirons!
