Hillingdon AC win the 2019 Alder Valley Boys Trophy Competition for the first time
Well what a weekend! The boys visited Reading for the Alder Valley Boys trophy competition, reports Dianne Gibbons. We had out our strongest available team but still had some key people missing. Despite this, scores half way through were that we were in 2nd place to the Reading team – a real surprise! As team managers we had tried to fill every event and everyone was running, jumping and throwing their best with many PBs. As the afternoon progressed we continued to stay in 2nd place with the scores getting ever closer. Relays were very exciting with us neck and neck with Reading. Right at the end when nearly all had gone home, having had a very hot and exhausting day, we got the news that we had wanted, we had overtaken Reading and had won the Trophy competition for the first time ever in the clubs history. Congratulations must go to firstly to all of the athletes, they performed amazingly and made us very proud. Thanks must go to all of the coaches in our club who have helped coach, encourage and motivate our athletes to a great standard, officials – amazing as always and parents who travel, drop off and support their children. A huge congratulations to all involved – a superb team effort!
Well done to all members of the team from everyone at HAC!
