Met League Fixture 4 – Ally Pally 11th January 2020

“The course is very very muddy and very taxing” was the message from race organisers in the days leading up to the fourth Met League fixture. The hill of Alexandra Palace can already fill a cross country runners eyes with tears and now we were that thanks to a very wet January the course was even muddier than usual. This didn’t stop 66 HAC members heading into North London to compete.

Our U11 Boys squad of 4 opened proceedings. Barnabe Lesenne-Ward lead the team home in 4th position. Barnabe was followed home by Charlie Hyde (25th), Seth Miller (30th) and Harley Brannen (34th). Our U11 Boys team finished in 5th position.

Onto the U13’s and Hillingdon AC had 4 boys and 3 girls in the respective races. Ryan Stoddart was once again the first HAC competitor home in 22nd position, followed by Harvey Williams (39th), Henry Skinner (41st) and Dimitar Manchorov (46th). Our U13 boys team finished the fixture in 11th position.

Asmaa Abdirahman led our U13 girls home finishing in second position. Calli Capsey was our 2nd U13 girl home in 23rd position, followed by Isla McGovern (33rd). The U13 girls team finished the event in 4th position.

The Junior Men were next to line up on the soggy start line. Abdirahim Hamud finished in 5th position with Isaac Bloodworth (22nd), Mohsin Moallin (33rd), Amit Solanki (35th), Faysal Mohamed (39th), Patrick Hyde (42nd), Edward Spencer (83rd), Daniel Hope (47nd) and William Spencer (88th) bringing the HAC Junior Men home.

Hillingdon AC only had 2 competitors in the Junior Women race. Nicole McGovern was first back for HAC in 5th postion, followed by Clara Higgs in 30th position. Well done ladies.

Catriona Paterson was the first Senior Woman for the Hillingdon A team. Catriona finished in 16th position, followed by Jennifer Harvey (20th), Hannah Wells (42nd), Ciara Williams (76th) and Zoe Dobbs (127th). Our Division one team finished in 5th position after 4 league fixtures.

Zoe Dobbs led our Veteran ladies home in 127th position, closely followed by Kathryn Carruthers (130th) and Karen O’Rourke (146th). The Division 1 Ladies Vets team finished in 6th position, with the Division 2 team finishing in 5th and Division 3 in first position.

The final race of the day was the Senior Men who were led home by Abdishakur Abdulle in 5th position. The rest of the A team included Aramias Zeration (16th), Liam Holbrook (82nd), Martin Bateman(132nd), Will Fielding (146th), Paul Leppard (187th), Dominic Speight (208th), Andrew Powell (215th), Scott Farley (245th), Simon Connell (260th), Daniel Whittaker (267th) and Steve Hirons (277th).

The Senior Men’s Division 1 A team finished the event in 8th position after 4 fixtures and the Veteran Men’s Division 1 team finished the fixture in 6th position after 4 fixtures.
