Middlesex Cross Country Championships – 5th January 2019

Congratulations to HAC’s U13 girls team who were victorious at this years Middlesex Cross Country Championships at Horsenden Hill, reports Diane Gibbons. Asmaa Abdirahman finished in first position, closely followed by Nicole McGovern in second place. Scarlett McClellan finished in 20th as our third scorer.

Not to be outdone HAC’s U15 boys team of Nathan Hackley (4th), Mohsin Moallin (12th) and Luke Edwards (13th) took second place in the competition.

A small band of senior ladies took to the fields, reports Zoe Dobbs. With most of our faster ladies missing and a stronger and larger field of runners from 2018, achieving another fourth place was always going to be a struggle this year. Hannah Wells as always was at the front of the pack coming in 19th (33.53), Zoe Dobbs 50th (37.33), Lynn Hyde coming back from a long term injury came in a credible 78th (40.58) and the amazing Mel Spencer running with a knee injury was our fourth scorer 82 (41.14). Congratulations to Vicky and Christina who both knocked off well over 4 minutes from their times last year which is an awesome effort. We finished 12th overall. Bring on Wormwood Scrubs!

Hillingdon AC’s senior men finished 4th in the team competition with Robert Thompson (8th), Aramias Zeraton (11th), James Laing (26), Fahad Abdi (35), Richard Mann (50) and Paul Leppard (66) scoring.

Well done to all that competed and represented Hillingdon AC on a cold January morning. Full results can be found here http://www.middlesexaa.org.uk
