Our Palace Princesses

Well done to Hannah, Steph and Zoe for representing us at the North London Cross Country Championships at Alexandra Palace on 22nd November reports Donna Nash.
Thankfully the weather was kind and the rain held off – however, the course was incredibly muddy and challenging as ever.
Queen of the course this time for Hillingdon was Hannah Wells, acting team captain. Hannah cut short her visit to Brighton to compete for the club and made it in time for the start line. She ran really well and crossed the finishing line 11 places behind the winner – narrowly missing a spot in the top ten and completing the course in 22.13.
Steph Wigram put in a great performance – despite being unable to dig in deep without spikes! She still made it into the top twenty – placing 18th with a time of 22.32.
Zoe Dobbs said she ‘suffered from race inexperience’ and underestimated the challenge of the hill. All credit to Zoe for taking the time out to compete and complete a challenging course in 54th place, 24th Vet.
87 ladies competed and unfortunately we didn’t qualify as a team as we needed 4 to score.
All of the girls expressed their appreciation for the cheering and encouragement from the men – true team spirit and Hillingdon harmony.
