James Quinn

James has been a member of HAC for 11 years and says “If you do something you should always make it fun. When l am leading a run, I always try to bring the fun element to the group and also a real sense of achievement by the end.”

James was never interested in running, but he used to watch the London marathon on TV on a Sunday morning with a cup of tea and a bacon roll saying, “I’ll do that one day” and he did – twice.

James says his second London Marathon is his favourite running achievement after his first was a disaster (15 miles in his knee packed up and he ended up hopping the last 11 miles, only to be beaten on the line by a man in a chicken suit). So, to go back the next year, and run EVERY SINGLE STEP with the support of his friends, HAC and family was incredible!

James wants to help everyone discover the joy that fitness can bring to their life. “Making the decision to take on a 5k challenge for the first time can be a daunting experience on your own. If you’ve decided to make a difference to your life by joining the couch to 5k programme – the support of coaching, a bunch of likeminded new friends, group runs and great running tips will make it easier. YOU can do this!”
