SAL, Uxbridge, 22nd May
A good start to this year’s season saw the club finish 3rd overall with 152 points behind 2nd place Reading Ac on 159 points and the winners on the day Hercules Wimbledon on 187 points.
We had very good performances from the club’s young sprinters and solid efforts throughout the day trying to cover all the events the best we could. Ultimately not being able to do so cost the team a well-deserved 2nd place but overall, I was really happy with the team and the willingness to help cover events.
We had wins in the following events
James Laing won the Men’s A string 5k in 15:50s
Akira Mead the men’s B 100m in 11.5s
Liam Holbrook A string 400m/800m 51.8s and 1m57s respectively
Nana Quainoo Womens A 100m 12.5s
Juanita Kyere-Adoo Womens B 100 12.6s
Lucy Wilcock Womens A Javelin 29.65m
Plus two great victories in the Women’s A and B string Triple jump.
A special mention must go to Hannah Wells and Lynn Hyde for covering multi events throughout the day, there willingness to help the team was amazing.
Overall a good solid start, we need to now push on and go again for the next fixture at Kingston on Sunday June 12th.
