Showing our respects
UPDATE: We collected £74.33 at Stevenage from our athletes and a few others attending for the Black Ribbons, in memory of Stacey and Lucy which the club made upto £100 that has now been sent to the SportsAid trust for young athletes.
As I’m sure many of you will have seen in the news this week, 2 teenage girls from Aldershot, Farnham and District AC tragically died after they were hit by a car whilst they were out training on Tuesday. This Saturday is the Met League at Stevenage and I have seen on social media that a few clubs will be showing their respects by wearing black ribbons. I believe we as a club should do likewise. Katherine Wells, Hannah Jane Wells and Mummy Wells have kindly agreed to source and make the black ribbons for us The ribbons will be available at Stevenage to those that wish to show their respects in this way for a donation of £1.00 to a sports charity.
On a lighter note if anyone is free to help marshal on Saturday from the start of the first race can you contact Richard Bloom of Herts Phoenix at rj.bloom@btinternet.com by tomorrow evening please.
