South Of England Four Stage / Six Stage Road Relays 20 September 2015

Hillingdon AC fielded men’s teams in each of the age groups at the South of England Four Stage / Six Stage Road Relays at Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot on Sunday 20 September with a number of strong individual performances.

Racing over four legs, the Vet 60 team finished sixth of six complete teams with John Bignell clocking the fastest time for the team and 20th fastest overall in the V60 category with a time of 29:27 over the 6K course.

In the Vet 50 race, Hillingdon AC finished 19th out of 19 complete teams with Peter Warburton fastest for the team with 25:15 whilst in the Vet 40 race, Paul Cuddihy marked his competitive return to club athletics with a fastest time of 21:09 to lead the Vet 40 men to 15th out of 33 teams.

The Senior Men were aiming for a top 25 finish in order to claim a qualification place for the National Six Stage Road Relays but just missed out, finishing 33rd and 28th A team out of 69 teams. James Laing, Rob Thompson and Martin Bateman all ran under 20 minutes, recording 19:15, 19:34 and 19:55 respectively.
